It has often been commented on how Sakina Jones captures the essence
of the landscape or animal she is painting.
Working predominantly in watercolour, Sakina describes herself as a
colourist who is keen to depict light and the ‘softness’
found in nature, e.g. an animal’s fur, spray of a wave. Watercolour
also only allows a small number of brush strokes forcing the artist
to distil the scene quickly and minimally.
